One of the primary goals of the ABC Christian Academy is to provide quality
curriculum taught from a Christian perspective. The curriculum includes
Scholastic Reading Association, Scott Foresman, Saxon Publishers,
Prentice Hall, Sunlight Curriculum, Abeka, Positive Action for Christ,
and A Reason for Handwriting.
In order to create the highest quality most comprehensive curriculum
for each grade, the academy has chosen course material from a variety
of educational companies. By doing this the academy hopes to create
a well balanced curriculum for each grade.
Tuition
The ABC Christian Academy is a non-profit
mission school. Therefore all tuition fees will be used only for the
operation of the school.
Approximately half of the tuition fees will be used to purchase curriculum
and pay for its transportation from abroad. The other half will be
used for the operation of the academy, (phone, water, lights, guards,
landscaping, etc.).
Tuition will be US$1240 per year for non-Malawians, and US$850 for Malawian citizens. There will be a 10% discount for each additional child enrolled.
$300 is payable by July 1 of each year so that your child's place will be held, and also so that textbooks, teachers manuals, and visual aids can be ordered from overseas, ($200 for Malawian citizens).
$400 is due on the opening day of school ($300 for Malawians), and the balance is due at the beginning of the second semester Malawians).
Payment can be made in either Malawi Kwacha or U.S. Dollar checks.
School Calendar
The ABC Christian Academy will run on the same calendar as the other
international schools in Malawi. The academy will begin the school
year in early-September and end in mid or early June.
School will begin each morning at 7:30am for all grades, and will
end at 12:45pm. K-5 (Standard 1) classes will finish at 12:00.
