The academy had its First Athletics Day on Friday June 12, 2009. The ABC Christian Academy has adopted the "House" system for school competition. The Academy is divided into 3 "Houses" -- roughly 100 students and teachers in each all ages (K-4 or Reception through North Star - Grade 10-12). The Houses or teams are named after local game parks in Malawi -- Majete, Liwonde and Nyika. Each house has a color and animal mascot. Majete is red and a cape buffalo. Nyika is green and represented by an impala. Liwonde is light blue and uses the elephant as its mascot. In the first ABC Christian Academy Athletics day organized by Athletic Director Mrs. Jackie Baker Goule. MAJETE was the mighty winner. Majete has the largest supported team. Kids wore red t-shirts, painted an "M" on their faces and were led in cheering and chanting by ABC College students on local drums. The athletic events included, 100m sprints, a noodle race, water try relay, baton races, long jump and many others races. Children of all ages participated from age 4 to 17. "Mighty Majete" was led by captains Jonathan (grade 12) and Nell Spencer (grade 9). The spirit trophy was awarded to the Liwonde camp. Cheering was led by Fatima Diab on a megaphone.
