Dear ABC Friends,
Below is an exciting letter about a brand
new program that we are putting in place. For the first time ever you
will be able to directly sponsor an ABC student of your choice. There
are dozens of sharp, wonderful deserving students at our three campuses
in Africa. You can now go online to see them, read about them and chose
one whose life you would like to drastically change. I've been in Africa
for a long time and I promise you, nothing is as life-changing as an
education at ABC.
Thank you very much for taking a few minutes to read the attached
letter. The program is being headed up by a close friend of mine, Corey
Conkright. Corey runs our ABC West Coast Office and attends my twin
brother's church in Arizona [The Grove Bible Church]. Corey has made two
trips to Africa in the past year, including leading a team of 63 from
The Grove to Malawi. Corey has a genuine heart for our students and he
strongly believes that if you will take a moment to read their stories
at
www.abcsponsorship.
org that you will be as passionate about helping
them as he is.
May God bless you and your family,
Paul Chinchen, ThD

Introducing ABC's New Student Sponsorhip Program
We are excited to share with you our new Student Sponsorship Program. As
you know, we are now 3 campuses strong and the demand for new enrollment
has never been higher. We had over 1,000 men and women show up last
spring to take our entrance exams. Currently, we have 450 students
enrolled for Fall '10 (Liberia– 100, Uganda–125,
Malawi– 225). As you also may know, our students cannot afford the
true tuition cost, so ABC has to subsidize anywhere from 50 to 70
percent of each student's tuition. The funds we raise directly affects
how many new students we can accept each year. That is where the new
Student Sponsorship Program comes in.
The program is simple. We have three tiers: $39/month, $78/month, and
$167/month; with commitments from 1 year to 4 years. We are trying to
raise $2,000 per student, which makes their portion of tuition $800 or
$300, depending on which campus they attend. Our goal is to grow this
program and eventually have sponsors across the country participating
and allowing us to not only help fund our current students, but enable
us to keep up with the high demand for new incoming students. The idea
is to lessen the number of qualified men and women we have to turn away
each year because of lack of funding. Our Alumni are truly impacting
Africa for the Lord, and the more students we can give the chance to
enroll at ABC, the more graduates we will have to help make a
difference.
The program is up and running as we speak, and we already have our first
15 sponsors. We know the program can and will work, but we need to get
the word out. This letter is just one of those ways in which we are
doing so. Another way we are diligently working on is talking to
churches around the country and asking them to partner with us and to
allow us to come in for one Sunday to put on what we are calling "ABC
Student Sponsorship Sunday." During this special Sunday we will share
the ABC story and Student Sponsorship Program goals with the
congregation, and will have photos and student bios set up in the lobby
or courtyard with our sign up information.
We really need your help to make this program a success. Please take the
time to pray about being a part of our Student Sponsorship Program and
go to our ABC Sponsorship website to see pictures and bios of our
students. If you choose to become a sponsor go to
www.abcsponsorship.
org, register and pick your student. Thank you for all your prayers
and support. If you have any questions regarding this program, please
contact Corey Conkright, our West Coast Director of Development, at
corey@abcsponsorship.org or
602–694–7605.
